Baby time!

It all starts at the age ... we advance in our age and suddenly everything around us begins to become more connected to babies. Reaches a time that women around us begin to emerge with pregnancy, tummies, the sweet babies ... start the diapers, the dummies and baby bottles.
With the introduction of the babies in my life, started the ideals of things to give to babies. I started making small gifts for my nephew, the first to appear in this list of new lives and wanted to give a treat made by me. This first treat was a mobile to hang the curtains. Then it was an ornament to the room with his name ...
After beginning the ideas drawn in carbon, the cut fabrics, felts sewn, embroidered lines and ribbons, of course ... the ribbons to adorn the creations.
And now? Now here it is ... a bird house, made of felt and fabric to hang in the room.

Fitas!!!

terça-feira, maio 03, 2016 Unknown 0 Comments

Adoro fitas!

I love ribbons! The decorative ribbons make beautiful works when applied ... usually those who sewing  always have many ribbons ... bias tapes, Greek, satin, organza, bars, etc.
The truth is that although very beautiful, are always a problem to organize. Wherever you have, they wind up in each other, mingle, and then there is patience.
The other day, I had enough and took almost a full day to organize.
And how to organize? There are several tutorials on the Internet, several ideas that can help us choose.
In my case, I decided to recycle card ... I took pieces of card that had separated for recycling and cut to curl the ribbons.
1. Cortar um rectângulo de cartão.
1. Cut a cardboard rectangle.

2. Cut a rectangle of each side, leaving intact each of the corners.

3. Arredondar os cantos do cartão.
3. Round the corners of the card.

4. Enrolar as fitas ao cartão.
4. Wind up the tape to the card.

Thus was the result of the stowage.
A full color box and everything organized.

I love #gray ... is consistent with everything, we can use whenever we want ... with anything.
#Snow gray #delicate  and on top of that... #warm!
This #collar crochet had already presented a few years but this was a new order. This #wool is spectacular because it is very #soft and has a #mohair effect but thicker. The stitch technique is very easy and gets a #honeycomb effect.

As agulhas de croche... correspondências!

quarta-feira, fevereiro 17, 2016 Unknown 0 Comments

- mm: que estamos habituados em Portugal, com unidade de medida em milímetros;
- US: sistema americano;
- UK: sistema utilizado no Canadá e em Inglaterra, com unidade de medida em polegadas;

A few posts ago I spoke here on the needles crochet, but specifically the type of needles that exist.
Now its time to talk about size.

We are used in Portugal with the milimetric system, which the numbering corresponds to the needle diameter millimeters. I think it will be difficult to decorate the equivalent systems of the American scales, English or Japanese.
But it is important, however, have were to consult the equivalence of needles so that we can see and follow models from other countries.

New schouly hat

Because we are still in #winter and because I have the nasty habit of leaving jobs half, here is an unfinished work from last year ... a #schoulyhat.
This #hat is made with... one more time, #KatiaYarn #wool azteca.

As agulha... Crochet

quarta-feira, fevereiro 03, 2016 Unknown 0 Comments

Hoje queria falar sobre uma coisa essêncial...
Agulhas :)

Today I wanted to talk about something essential ...
:) needles

The needles are a great business tool and are like magic wands ...
Can they be sewing needles, knitting or crochet, etc ...
Today I want to talk about the crochet hooks.

A agulha que a minha tia Isabel me deu quando me começu a ensinar a fazer croché.
Ficava horas naquilo... adorei desde o primeiro instante!

Still keep my first crochet hook size 3mm aluminum, with a strong blue plastic cable. The hook that my Aunt Elizabeth gave me when I began to learn crochet. I had at the time about 5 years, and the first works I did were kitchen handles, so-called granny squares. They were circulars, square handles ... just in a color, different colors ... I started to do even tiny blankets for my cats, imagine!
Spent hours doing that ... I loved from the first moment!

Typically, the hook depends on the type of line or wool that will work. It must suit the thickness of the line to the hook. The choice of the size of the hook will also have direct influence on the size of the work.
The needles are measured in milímetrs and the measurement indicates the size of the hook tip.

Stainless steel - are suitable for use with crochet lines, i.e. thin wires to perform more delicate work. Usually have measures between 0.6mm to 2.0mm.

Aluminum - are indicated for hooks and wool thicker lines. These hooks are usually sizes between 2.0mm and 7.0mm.

Plastic - are also indicated for working wool and thicker lines as aluminum hooks but have a big difference, they are lighter. Normally present sizes between 5.0mm and 20mm.

Apresentam variadas medidas.

Bamboo - These are my favorite needles because they are more resistant and lightweight, and great for work, giving a feeling of being softer. Obviously, to 26 years, when I started to crochet, there were these needles, at least in Portugal. Because they are not entirely plain are a great help for those who are starting because they help gain control on the needle and thread / wool and help find our own tension of work. They are very good also because they are made from a sustainable resource. They have varied measures.

Nowadays i have a good collection of crochet hooks of all sizes, measurements and materials because they last a lifetime ...

Aqui está parte dela :)

Here is part of it :)
